Welcome to watsonphotography.co.uk
Welcome to my photographic website. This site is dedicated to the photographs that I take which I perceive as being the best of the best of my collection.
Although I like all types of photography, currently my favourite genre is extreme sports. This mainly includes downhill mountain biking and rallys.
Wildlife photography is a close second favourite genre. The reason for this being second is because it's much more difficult and brings extra complication when trying to get that perfect shot. For example, a downhill mountain bike will come past once every 30 seconds at a pre-arranged event. A wild animal will come past once every year and when that happens you need to be ready to compose that special shot within a split second.
This site will also be dedicated to projects that I carry out, for
example I have plans to walk either the Cleveland Way or Hadrian's Wall unaided for charity. By
unaided I mean that I will be camping in rough ground (no campsites).
I'm Not sure how far off this is but it will take a huge amount of
planning so all I know is that I am a little way off.
Other projects will also include the obvious, photographic projects.
The lone surfer:

This photograph was taken with a Nikon D80 using a 18-135mm lens. It was a cold spring day at Saltburn pier. To get the angle I had to walk along the pier. The only kit I was carrying was the 18-135mm lens so I had to wait long enough for the surfer to come closer.
He eventually did come closer and it was just at the point when he was paddling back out for another run. He had to crash through the breaker and at that point I took a batch of photos. This one turned out the best
